Getting creative with lighting.

The reception was heading to an end and I was packing up all my gear, I started to walk outside and saw the rain coming down within the light beams of the car pulling up outside, I then looked down and saw a clear umbrella leaning up against the wall and instantly got an idea!

I grabbed one of my speed lights out of my bag and then ran over to the bride and groom, I asked if it was ok to get one last shot, they said sure! We went outside the barn, I gave the groom the speed light and told him to point it up facing  the umbrella, I got back took the shot and then bam! I couldn't believe what just happened! It worked! I was yelling inside my head! lol

I ran up to the bride and groom with excitement and showed them this image, they became just as amazed as I was!! All it took was a just few minutes and a little thinking to create what I thought was one of the most epic wedding day images that I have ever taken!

I was blessed to have the opportunity to capture another beautiful couple who will forever look back on these amazing memories that I had captured. There is no greater feeling then getting to witness true love being joined together forever. Chris and Halie had a beyond beautiful wedding day, the weather was perfect and love was in the air.. Here are just a few images below sharing what the experience was like! Enjoy :) - Wes L.

Lighting is everything!

For most photographers natural daylight images are pretty easy to accomplish, but every photographer has their own style. I started using ocf lighting "off camera flash lighting" because I instantly recognized a huge difference not only with lighting but also the quality of the images that I was producing.
As you see below, I met with this couple near sunset at this amazing cotton field location. I was standing about 40 feet away from the couple and my lighting stand was only a few feet from them when I captured this image. My main goal is separating the sunset light and the lighting illuminating the subjects to give this image a professional pop!

As I always say, lighting is everything!
